Laughing and Crying. Say a Little Prayer For Me, Please? - Sarah Mae
Hi, I'm Sarah.
Join me in keeping on and beginning again!

Laughing and Crying. Say a Little Prayer For Me, Please?

Friends, I’m almost finished with writing and editing my first traditionally published book.

(Squee!)

For those of you who don’t know, I’m writing a book with Sally Clarkson called, Desperate – Hope for the mom who needs to breathe. It comes out in January published by Thomas Nelson.

(can’t see the video? Click here.)
I’m so excited.

And feeling a bit crazy.

I go between wanting to laugh hysterically (as in, send me to place with white padded walls) and cry during this editing process. I believe so much in this book and its message, but fine-tuning it is overwhelming. I have only two-weeks left to have it done, ready, complete (aside from copyediting). How can it be done in two weeks? I need months more time to get this book the way I want it! But, I don’t have months, I have weeks, which are really just a few days. I have bits of time carved out and then, it’s out of my hands {deep breaths}.

You probably won’t see me here over the next week or so as I’ll be drowning in rewriting and editing and bible study creating during the times I would normally be blogging. Would you pray for me, please? For energy, clarity and focus? I’m sort of a nervous wreck trying to finish well while at the same time trusting God with the limitations I have. I really, really appreciate your prayers.

Once I get through this editing process, the fun begins; you all can help me choose the cover of the book! Love that part. By the way, have any ideas for what the cover should look like?

Alright, back to crazy land. Love to you all.

Print this!

BREATHE 🙂  The title alone says it all… so excited for you and for all us moms who need to read your message!

God can multiply your time. He did it for me in a big way during my senior year of college when I had a full course load, internship, part-time job and ministry responsibilities. Praying for you.

Isaiah 30:8: Go now, write it on a tablet for them, inscribe it on a scroll, that for the days to come it may be an everlasting witness.

Sarah, I’m praying. I love Amy Tilson’s description of a mom for the Desperate cover. Some moms feel like they are drowning, so a woman rising up out of the water for air would be appropriate because your book is about hope and victory.

  • http://mercysavedme.blogspot.com/ Piper

May God give you EXACTLY what you need when you need it!! Its all HIS anyway!

  • Rosann

Trust in the Lord, my friend.  He’s got your back on this one.  Only great things will come from your sweat, laughter, and tears.  Praying for and with you…

    Blessings,
    ~Rosann

Praying for you Sarah. May you rest in His capable arms as you do this thing he has called and equipped you to do. He’s got this and you and His strength will be made perfect, so perfect, even in your weakness and then it’s all about Him. Love what He is doing through you girl and love that we all get to reap the benefits! Can’t wait for the book!

  • Sally Clarkson

Sweet one, You are exactly who God wanted to write this book and He is in your room, with you and writing through you–as He has done through out the centuries. We are praying here for you, too, knowing that your voice is just what is needed to make this book one of hope, understanding and beauty. Write on!

    • http://twitter.com/ReneeSwope Renee Swope

      Amen to what Sally said!!!

Praying for you sweet friend. This is going to be an amazing book and I’m so excited about it. Remember,  you have been appointed and you are already anointed to put the final touches on it. BUT I know it’s hard.

Still this I know even more…He will make sure it’s just what HE wants it to be!

Praying for you Sarah Mae. Remember God sees the finished manuscript DONE! Not only done and on the shelf, but done in someone’s hands as they read it and are impacted. HE is our great Author and Finisher of our faith…how amazing He’s invited you in the process!

  • Debbie T

Praying Sarah Mae. And remember that God is not limited by time or space. It is His message you are penning to mamas like me. He will make it perfect, you don’t have to.
And just know that the laughing crying place means God is at work… been there this week myself!

Cover? I see a woman drowning, reaching up toward a mighty hand to save…

  • Sarah Cooper

Yes, YES! You can do this, Mama! Will be praying for you every morning, and as you’re brought to mind during the day (as I’m struggling to breathe…which means you’ll be frequently prayed for from this struggling mama). May this two weeks be one you remember as a special time of grace.

Praying for you, Sarah Mae!  You are such an inspiration.  I’m finishing revisions to my first workbook/ ebook/ Bible study because of your example.  I’m writing to Christian moms to help get out of survival mode and into the abundant life Jesus gives.  You’re living it! May God continue to everything your hand touches because you hide His word in your heart.  Can’t wait to read it!

I know how this feels! My first book was published in November, and in addition to several times in the writing/editing process, I cried also the day the box of published books arrived at my door. 🙂   It is scary and exhilarating and hard and overwhelming and wonderful all at the same time!
You can do this! God has given you the strength to do it, and the words to say are those that He wants you to say.

  • Monique

Please know that there will be prayers for you all over the world!
