I’m beginning in July…

July - Get up early (this is going to be hard because not only do I love sleeping in the morning, but I have serious early morning brain fuzz. However, I’m going to give it a go because I need to use that morning time to work on my book)

August - Get dressed every morning with makeup & earrings

September - Consistant morning routine with the babes

October - Wash my face every night

November - Make my bed every day

December - Read every night before bed

What habits are you trying to get into (or out of)?

These are such great habits. I have been trying to make my bed everyday, get dressed in the morning with something other than PJ’s {preferably my workout clothes}, and exercise at least 30 minutes 6 days of the week!
    Thanks for the motivation! :-)

I’m trying to (re)build a habit of handwritten letters, starting with one a week. And trying to get OUT of the habit of doing all the housework – my kids are 10, 7, and 5 and very well  old enough to handle much more responsibility :)

I know you said you are trying to cut back on coffee, but the one goal that I set in 2011 that has stuck to this day is drinking one cup of cofee every morning.
Briain fuzz?? Oh, I hear ya!!! That one cup has changed my mornings. I only make one cup, so no going back for more! LOL!
My goal for July is making a menu and sticking to it. I have “obeyed” my plan three days in a row.  For me, that is already a huge success!!! Let’s see how the next 10 days go…LOL!!

Ah, it feels a little like New Years or Spring around here. :) Love that you are getting so organized with everything and sharing it.

    Lets see:

July: run on the treadmill ( I like running outside but the temps are over 100 and so I haven’t done any running. Plus the girls are out of school so no way to run outside)

August: School and Study routines: girls back in school (1st and 6th grade) and me back in the college classes routine (yep 42 and back at college to get my degree finally!).

September:  Start Christmas shopping early so we aren’t hit with the huge amount of money in December (we also have 5 birthdays between Dec. 6 – Jan 8th)

October: Plant Fall bulbs so we can have spring flowers ( I say this every October and never do it till it’s almost too late and the ground is way to hard)

November: Make homemade decorations Christmas and Winter with the girls

December: Relax and Really enjoy the Advent and Christmas Season (if things are perfect and I don’t everything done on my homemade to do list that is fine!!!)

Last month I gave up fast food and caffeine.  This month I am also working on getting up early so I have time with God and get some exercise.  Also to make my husband breakfast and lunch for the day.

      Natelied,

Way to go!  You will feel soo much better by getting p & having your quiet time with God before the chaos begins–also exercising will make you feel & look better.

Praying Blessings on you  Beth Williams

    SaraMae,

Getting up early is never easy, but it becomes a routine & soon you begin to wake up early on your own–at least I do.  My hubby has to be up at 5AM.  I get up between 5-5:30AM M-F–I get my daily Bible reading in, prayer time, exercise time, feed pets, & work on chores that need doing–laundry or put dishes away.

That way after work I don’t have to do those things & can enjoy the evening.

I’m working on my attitude about work.  It is ok, but at times can be quite unChristianly stinky!

Honestly, I get up early. Read before bed. Have a morning routine with the kids and get dressed everday. I am REALLY struggling with keeping the 31 Health Habits I am proudly posting this month. I think “proudly” might be the problem. I have had these darn habits for 20 years and now that I am sharing them with others, I want to eat late. Chow down on biscuits, drink Coke and all the rest. I am praying that God is my rock and helps me to continue to walk in what He has taught me about health and fitness. Completely Humbled..

    You forgot November! ;)

I am trying to get life together still… let’s see what we can accomplish!

    July- NO Soda!
August- Get dressed every day with make-up! I work in a high school and too often the kids look better than I do!
September- Consistent chore routine around the house.
October- Spend time outside with my kids daily!
    November- Make my bed everyday.
December- Create a sense of wonder with my children before the holiday.

I have a questions for you Sarah Mae, or your readers and commetors – how are you tracking your intentions?  I started writing up some goals this week (more than one item a month) in all areas, financial, health, spiritual, etc.  Now I’m looking for the ideal system for tracking my success (and lack thereof!).  Do you use a regular calendar and write down each day you, for example, made your bed?  Or are you creating a chart of some kind to tick off the boxes?  Any suggestions are welcome, especially as I am working on multiple habits, daily, weekly, monthly.  Thanks, Laura

For me, my accountability is this blog – I’m going to write out my weekly goals and updates every Friday. As far as what others are doing, that’s a great questions…hopefully some others will weigh in! :)

Blogging it is a huge accountability for me too! The Inspired to Action team also do weekly goal check-ins.
