This space is mine. I have the opportunity to fill it with my opinions and ideas, and truth and grace and all the bits that make up the DNA of who I am. Oh, but it’s more than even that. It’s a gift to be able to write, to put out words that will land in someone’s else’s sphere (Tweetable). Incredible how these invisible wires connect us all. And what a responsibility to be purposeful with what I have.

I want to give good things. I want to encourage and inspire and be known and know others. I want to love people, even if I can’t see them. This space is my living room, where I say,

“Pull up a chair and get comfy. Would you like some coffee or tea? Let’s not waste time on chit chat, let’s delve under surfaces, throw away the manufactured life, and live whole and free and real. Are you with me?” (Tweetable)

This place, my blog, will have purpose and I will find joy in it (or I won’t do it). Also? I want to glorify God here. Enjoying writing is enjoying Him because He weaved in me the desire to write – it is all glory to Him!

Friends, why do you want to write? Are you compelled? Do you have a message to share?

I write because I believe it’s not only a gift from God, but also because I feel He has called me to share the heart of my journey through a life of faith. :)

Wonderful -yes, we need your voice!

I write to share how I’m learning to conquer the chaos and cherish the commonplace in my life. I hope to create online friendships that encourage and challenge us to thrive where God currently has us!

      I love that – beautiful!

Sarah Mae, today I am believing that God is echoing the words He’s already spoken to my heart. The post I wrote yesterday for today was about changes, and writing the vision. I write on {In Pursuit} because I spent years depressed, always feeling as though I didn’t measure up. I wondered where were the Titus 2 women who were supposed to teach us younger wives/moms. I made a decision that what I learned in my process would not be held inside. Instead, I wanted to be a Titus 2 woman for other wives/moms. If I learned it- from finding joy in the process to keeping house- then I wanted to share it.

Today, I will ask God to help me fine tune a vision statement. Thanks for sharing. I am blessed by the simplicity and the depth of this journey.

May God continue to strengthen you and lead you as you seek to bless others.

      YES!!!!!

I started out blogging because I had hoped to make money. I found that once I started, I enjoyed writing so much that the process became the payoff. I like to think that I might be helping some younger women, too, since that’s my target audience. Above all, I want to write to honor God.

I love that you want to help younger women – we need you!

Here is the mission statement for my blog: to encourage women to be stewards of the gifts God has blessed them with in their new life in Christ by sharing my personal journey and using my own gifts to bring glory to God.
Some days are better than others at fulfilling that mission. It’s hard to not get sucked into the vortex of blogging and doing everything “right” and building numbers. I’m currently doing some re-evaluating of where I spend my blogging time and what the motives are for doing those things. Trying to re-focus.

Love that you’re doing this! I am blogging right now for some forced happiness. Sometimes you just need to make yourself plow ahead – that’s me, in the midst of many emotions right now. I need some lite and cheery.

I’ve been blogging for several years and my posts tend to be all over the place. A mission statement makes so much sense. It can serve as a road map and a gentle reminder when and I should stray from my true intentions. I found you through the nester blog and I’m excited to tune in to hear more. Blessings.

Sarah Mae, I have struggled with my mission statement from the first day I started blogging. Okay – from the first day I was confronted with the idea of a mission statement – which was long after I started blogging. lol. However, I’m all over this and am going to work on this and post it on Day 3. Thanks for sharing this challenge. You just get better and better and better at this!

Thank you, Sarah Mae, for sharing. I am struggling/working through some of the very things you are writing about this month. I’ll be reading, taking notes, praying on these things and will be revisiting them as I purposefully work through. I so enjoy your words and thoughts and heart!!

I certainly feel compelled. Love everything that word conjures up! Sometimes, it is actually painful until I get my thoughts written down or typed out. I totally get the analogy of giving birth to creating something written or artistic. I’m still in the process of finding a “niche.” My writer self has so much to say, but perhaps my homeschool mommy blog isn’t the best platform?
