If It's Just Another Book... - Sarah Mae
Hi, I'm Sarah.
Join me in keeping on and beginning again!

If It’s Just Another Book…

In less than a month Desperate will be released.

Desperate, the book that came out of my secret whispers, the “I just can’t be a mother today” whispers to God.

This book that is so much more to me than just a book.

So much more then just another encouraging message.

Friends, Sally and I believe that moms need help, and women need each other. We believe in more than just a message. We believe in a movement.

A no-more-desperate-moms movement.

Because what if that were possible? What if older women were willing to invest in the lives of younger women? What if moms had real, physical, scrubbing-dishes and-doing-the-laundry help? What if mothers taught their children to serve other moms? What if we all remembered how hard these “little years” were so that we would help the next generation of moms?

What if it were possible that there really could be no more desperate moms? (tweetable)

Would you be in?

Would you want to be a part of that movement?

Me too. I’m in.

And so is Sally.

If this book is just another book with a sweet message, then what will it really matter? How will it impact eternity? How will it really impact the desperate mom today. But if this book has the potential to create a movement, a movement where older and younger women come together, and help is offered and given, and women aren’t alone, and dishes are done and babies are cared for and generations are alive again, what could that do? What could that do to a nation? What could that do to the world?

What could that do for you?

What could that do for her?

You will want to wait to get the book because we have some very special things lined up for the week it releases. Hang tight, gather some women to read the book with, and get ready to be a part of something eternal.

Head here to learn more.

I think being a mom just exposes how very desperate we are, and how desperate we are for God. Desperate is not always a bad thing! Blessings!

      Yes, so true!

Oh, how I wish there were older, more experienced moms around me for just that sort of help & accountability. I think groups like MOPS, etc. (of which I’m a part) are helpful to a point. It’s nice to know you’re not alone. But I’m very hesitant to call a friend for help who has all of the same challenges I do on a daily basis. She already has a ton on her plate; I’d rather not ask her to add more! But I’d be much more willing to ask an empty-nester for help; she usually doesn’t have littles pulling on her already. πŸ™‚

I just read the intro, and would love to start a group that reads and discusses this book. It’s a little strange for me though…. I not only have the experience of an “older woman”- my oldest is 20 and going to give birth to my first grandbaby next summer- but I also have youngsters still at home. My youngest two bio children have (mild) special needs, and I am also a foster mother (our license if for children 5 and under- our foster child right now is 15 months.) So I definitely feel the desperation still! I haven’t had a full night’s sleep in I don’t even know how long! (my youngest bio son doesn’t sleep through the night, though he’s 3. Nor does the baby.) I also homeschool my children. Anyway, this sounds like a great book and study that could be very helpful for many of us, myself included. I guess it really doesn’t matter if I’m the mentor or mentee. πŸ™‚ (By the way, I have 5 bio children and then 1-2 foster children at a time.and can totally relate to all the reasons why I can’t get away.) πŸ˜€ (I was just longingly looking at some ladies sitting at the coffee shop in the grocery story this morning, as I got the milk my children would need when they woke up, and found myself thinking “oh how nice that would be to just sit for a few minutes and catch up with friends.”) πŸ˜€

I would love to start a group in my community, but who do I invite (young moms AND older women)? How many chapters are there (how many sessions do I schedule?)? I want to know more and want to get started planning… I can’t wait ’til the 8th!
