Today is the “official” launch date of Desperate – the day that book stores put Desperate on sale!

Happy dance!

We’ve been having so much fun already during this launch. Last night Sally and I hosted a #desperatemom Twitter party and we TRENDED and we beat out the #bachelor and #bcschampionship!

Screen Shot 2013-01-07 at 10.11.27 PM

We also hit #106 on Amazon and #61 on, out of all books, so that was so stinkin’ exciting! We want to see the message of Desperate reach as many moms as possible! Why? Read this.

And, sad to say, we are already out of the beautiful Vintage Pearl “breathe” necklace. However, there are still other wonderful gifts for those who purchases books this week, and The Vintage Pearl has other very lovely items that you might want to take a look at.

Now let’s get right to national hug-a-book-at-a-bookstore day! Why yes, I did make that up, but it should be official, don’t you think?

$25 of Coffee or Target Yumminess!

Here’s the deal, go out to your local bookstore and take a picture of you with Desperate (you should buy it while you’re there ;). Post that picture to your FB page/profile. Everyone who does this will be entered to win a $25 Gift Certificate to either Starbucks or Target (winner’s choice). There will be THREE winners! I’ll add my pic, just for fun, as soon as I have it (I’ll be going to Barnes & Noble!)

Now don’t forget all the other fun we have for you…

Spa/Mentoring Weekend with Sally and Me!

    From my blog post:

“I wonder why I’ve been looking forward to reading this book? Could it be because…

    … I’m a mom?

… I’m a mom who is desperate for a “breather”?

… I’m a mom who longs to hear that it’s okay for me to want to take a break, and it’s even okay to do so?

Yep, I think that about covers it.”

  • FromMyMountainView

I am so excited about this book! It really is like coming up for air
when you’ve been under the water for too long. It’s like having a Godly
mentor sitting at my kitchen table helping me see a different
perspective of life in motherhood. A desirable perspective of life that I
would have never seen if it weren’t for Sarah Mae and Sally Clarkson
being willing to sit down and be transparent about their lives and
struggles in the early stages of their growing families. For me, as a
momma of four little ones, and for most women as well, sometimes we just
need to realize there is an easier way than doing it all by ourselves
    — we don’t have to face womanhood or mommyhood alone! I am so grateful
for their perspectives, ideas and wisdom found within these pages. I
am forever changed. I can breathe. 🙂 Thank you, Jesus, so SO much.

            just for fun! 🙂

  • Shelly Richardson

Where do I need the most help with mothering? I think finding the time to care for myself in the midst of the chaos. There never seems to be a minute, until I am flat on my back with a migraine or anxiety from my chronic illness. It is then that I get rest.

  • Amanda Kurdziolek

I need the most help with consistency in discipline.

  • tina watschke

I need help when i’m in the middle of something, not getting frustrated for their interruptions. I don’t want them to feel like interruptions.

I need help getting on top of my house work!!

  • Pam Howard

Keeping my focus – not getting distracted.

  • Karthy

I need the most help with knowing other parents go through some of the same struggling that I do with my kids.

  • Jane

I need help staying calm & patient

  • MamaBethy

I need help watching the children during the day and of course with the housecleaning. First I’d like to just know that it’s ok that I can’t keep everything in order and know that someone wants to come share the chaos with me and then help to change the atmosphere by their willingness to roll up their sleeves and pitch in! I don’t like to ask for help, but when someone comes over and just starts cleaning or playing games with or reading to the children so I can really do things, I am SO cherished!

  • Darcey Zahaykevich

The toughest part of my day is when the school age kids (3 of them) come home and the chaos starts. They have been in school all day and do not want to sit and do homework or chores. I want them to get it done asap so they can play, but they are tired of working. It is such a struggle. And then the baby starts climbing on everything. Would love one on one time, but have to get the baby down, cook dinner, stop the fights, make sure the fire is keeping the house warm, etc.

  • Abby

I need the most help in knowing I’m not alone in this mothering journey.

  • Chrissy Bryant

Staying calm & non-emotional when dealing out consequences. My kids know I’m going to follow through, but I still find myself yelling…grrr!

  • Shellee Chase

    My attitude. It affects EVERYTHING!!!

  • Mandy

Definitely attitude: not being exasperated but investing and knowing bumps in the road are common and real life.

  • Brenda H

Massage for a year!!!??? Wouldn’t know how to act! So cool!

  • Shaylin Morgan

So excited for this book. I need help with staying focused on the important things – my kids! Not the house, the chores, or anything else – just raising my sweet kids!

  • Blaire

need the most help with being intentional, and having patience.

  • Maia

I need help with getting enough sleep.

  • Christine M

I would love to win the massages!

    I need help with patience.

  • Megan

    Would love the massages!

  • Katie

I need help when it comes to managing it “all.” Simple. as. that. 🙂

  • Matt

my wife certainly would love to win this!!

  • Jessica Griggs

    more patience

  • Joy

I need helping balancing everything, taking time for myself, and remembering not to yell.

  • Christine

    My health and energy.

  • Lynn G.

  • Tiffany

I need to get better at accepting that not getting everything done is OK and not resenting my family for it. 🙁

  • Jessica Jaecklein Redden

I need to take more time to listen to my five children. sometimes all I hear is noise… I really want to hear them.

  • Lindsey

We are in the process of adopting, so I know I have a TON to learn! Any help is good help! 🙂

  • JoLu

balance. I’m in a season right now where I am absolutely overwhelmed (four kids, homeschool, full time caregiver for my mom who is a cancer patient and lives with us, and just because God has a terrific sense of humor… I got a positive pregnancy test for my 40th birthday). I need balance.

  • Lucy

I need to realize that my daughter is now an adult, and recently married. She has her own way of doing things. I’m trying not to offer my advice unless I’m asked for it. SOOOOO hard!

  • Nicole

I need the most help slowing down, listening and looking forward…months and years and generations forward…not just dinner time forward! To realize I am building foundations for the future.

  • Sarah

I need help with time management and being OK with not getting my to-do list done.

  • Melanie

I think I need the most help with perspective. My time with them is so short and even though I have knowledge of that, I don’t act like I believe it. I need to get “one more thing done” and then I can play a game with them or read to them or not act like they are in my way. Goodness! How horrible. I must grow in that area. Must.

  • Tiffany T

I want to spend “QUALITY” time with my children. Worry less about the world around me and savor every minute I have with my boys!

  • Rebecca Scott

I would love to hear from moms who have done it well what they would do over, what they would concentrate on, what they would do less worrying over. My girls are still little (3,2 and 2) and I don’t want to mess it up : )

  • joanna n.

well, i’m not a mother yet, but as i wait for that to happen, i’m thinking patience would be a big issue for me =/

  • Heather

I think organization and time management are my downfalls. I get distracted very easily.

  • Missy C.

I need more patience, time, and love for my children and husband.

  • Amie

I look forward to reading this book. I think the thing I need help with the most is making sure that I’m refreshed enough to be a blessing to those in my house instead of a crazy woman. It doesn’t happen all the time, but I need to be aware of when I’m struggling and how to stop rather than just let myself become frazzled.

  • Katherine

More patience and less yelling, especially in homeschooling

  • Kelli Taylor

    patience..for sure

  • Emily

Grace for myself when I just can’t get it all done (which is basically every day, but some days it bothers me so much more!)…my mood has such an impact on my husband & kids.
