  • Crystal
  • Crystal

I need this book because I’m a toddler mama who needs reminded daily that I serve a God who doesn’t make mistakes…especially not in choosing me to be my girl’s mom.

  • Jennifer

Why do I need this book?
Well…because I have a 15 year old, 7 year old and a very strongwilled 3 year old….and because I am a Desperate mom who wants to be desperate no more! This book…this movement could not have come at a more needed time for me…God in His sovereignty has orchestrated this perfectly for me!

  • Kris Camealy

I need this book because I am more desperate than I realized. Seriously, Sarah Mae, Sally, thank you for this. I am so encouraged by this treasure.

  • Kris Camealy

My review is about to go live on my blog:

  • Sarah

Ya I am pretty desperate with baby number 3 on the way!!

I love what you and Sally are doing. Thanks so much!

  • Heather

  • Becky Castle Miller

I’m desperate for more SLEEP as a mom of 3! Is there a chapter on sleep in the book? : )

  • Abby

mother of three boys ages 5, 3, 1. God used a miscarriage about a month ago to show me that I needed to slow down and breathe. too much pushing ahead to see what I should be “doing” and not just enjoying “being”. just trying to figure how to…just…be. 🙂

  • Kali

“Why do you need this book?”

Well, who doesn’t need someone honest and open (and fun!!) to relate to – like you, Sarah! And of course we all need a mentor, and who better to fill those shoes than someone as wise as Sally?

Plus, going through a really, really difficult time right now, it’s such a blessing to have this book to help keep my head in the right place and my attitude pointed in the right direction. Bless you both for writing it! ((((hugs))))

  • Stephanie Allain Kandray

I’m a SAHM of 2 girls (1 and 3 yrs) and trying to run a review/giveaway blog as well. Does this come with free babysitting?

  • Samantha Allen

There are days when I feel totally overwhelmed and I think this sounds like a refreshing and encouraging read!

  • Jenn

This so relates to me because we have moved so many times and how I have felt over last couple years: I had some friends and no family close by. I quit my corporate job and
became a full time Mommy. My friends at work had little time and I had
not really had a chance to plug in with at home Moms. They already had
their circles – and I was trying to figure out where I belonged. It was
hard- having worked and then quit. I didn’t really seem to fit.
But I know there is hope, we you trust in our Lord. Thankful for MOPS and Bible Study groups, even have led a couple for mom’s. I know we can all relate in someway. Can’t wait to read this book!

  • Melissa Lynch

Somedays I just need some encouragement to keep going.

  • Sandy Thompson

As a homeschooling Mom of 4 girls, I could really use this book! And thank you for sharing your mom-in-laws advise…I have a 4 year old who challenges me everyday. 10 minutes of Momma time every hour will be on the agenda =) Thank you!!!

  • Darcey Zahaykevich

My house needs this deperately. Would love to win. I would love to also win the book. I am 45 years old (yes I feel old), with 4 kids ages 8, 8, 6, and 19 months and I help my husband take care of my MIL who has dementia. I am “deperate” for sleep and rest. Thanks!!

  • faithfamilyfibro

Wonderful book. I couldn’t put it down. I sure wish you two would have written this 8 years ago!!! Now I get it and understand the feeling of being desperate when you are a mom of littles! I hope to pay it forward with having a study with women in my area…..praying cuz it will be hard for me to come out of my shell to invite!

  • Terry

Thank you so much for the offer. Great give away!

  • Cathy E

Why do I need this book? Well, I already purchased it, read it last week, and left it for my 26 YO niece who is mom to two little ones. So I ordered myself another copy only to have another friend ask to borrow it. So I need another copy for myself, lol.

  • Jen

The description of this book resonates so much with my season of life. I look forward to hearing what the Lord wants to speak to me through your words. Thank you for writing this book!

  • Sarah Camp Parker

Looking forward to it. We’re in the thick of it around here!

  • Amanda Chambers

I definitely need this book! I’m not sure if mine still qualifies as a “little” at age 9, but as a homeschool mom of an only child, I sure do feel desperate quite often! Thanks for the chance to win and thanks for writing this book.

  • JuliAnne Miller

I came across a quote from Sally that renergized me to get back into the Word. My husband started his sixth year as a union traveler on Christmas Day. Our family sees each other for 2-3 days once every other month, and maybe a holiday if we are lucky (we average 30-50 days per year). This is tremendously hard on a marriage, but also on our daughter. The lonliness of the lifestyle is difficult for a nine year old to comprehend. I need more time with God to change our lives, to give us balance, to heal us. I want to find physical shoulders to lean on when mine just aren’t enough. Mostly, I need guidance from someone.

  • Brianna McLeod Preston

So glad this book is finally here–not just for me, but for the many women who have felt like me. Weary, overwhelmed, sad that they aren’t living up to their ideals. Here’s to no more desperate moms!

  • Brittany

I have four kids under 8, so I could really use this book. Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

  • Renee

I am a momma of 4 sweet kiddos…I can totally relate to the feeling of desperation…would love to read this book!

  • jenifer metzger

Why do I need this book? Uhh….because I have kids. 🙂 I can totally relate to feeling ‘desperate’ and having to remind myself to breathe.

  • Elizabeth P. Deans

I am a SAHM who wants to be the best I can and need God’s strength and guidance to do that.

  • Monique Martinez

I need this book, because being a mom is a daily struggle for me.
I literally feel like I’m bring suffocated by my life, almost daily…

  • Rosann

I need this book because I need to be reminded that it’s okay to strive for SuperMom ideals as long as I don’t let them define me as a mother. I’m going to mess up, but that doesn’t mean my kids will be screwed up for life. As long as I follow God’s biblical “instruction manual” I’ll be glorifying Him and doing exactly what my children need according to His plan and purpose for their life.

  • Rosann

Here’s my review of this book: A Desperate Mom –

  • Katy

Besides relating myself, I need to give this book to countless friends who I’ve heard relate to it’s message!

  • Katrina Steele

I could use this because there are “those days” when I AM desperate!

  • Sarah

I am so eager to get my hands on this book. I am homeschooling 3 of my 4 kids (aged 3-12) with one on the way, and with a husband that does contract work I find myself doing it with a faltering sense of security. (I constantly have to remind myself that God will continue to provide and look for his streams of blessing – but OH for that stream to be consistent and easy to spot!). It is going to trump all my other books piling up on my reading list.

I have to say that I am a tad disappointed though – I have been watching all the lead up to launch week just to see that it is all for US residents only 🙁 Is there nothing for a poor Canadian excited to buy the book this week?

Congratulations on the launch – I know the book represents so much hard work, and I am thankful that you invest that work to bless women – mothers – like me. God bless.

    • Sarah Mae

I know, it stinks for those outside the U.S.! Not my choice! Do you have a friend in the U.S. you could have the giveaways shipped to?

Thank you for your encouragement! 🙂

  • Liz Curry Clark

who wouldn’t love free housecleaning! Woohoo! With a 3 year old and triplets on the way – this would be a fantastic treat!! Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Nichole

I can’t wait for my book to get here. Im a mom of 5 and there are days I’m on the go from the time I get up until I go to bed, well most days are like that. I need to remember to stop and take time and that its ok if I don’t get everything done

  • Karla

Because it would be nice to have some encouragement to breath on those days when it feels like I can’t. 🙂

  • Dayna

I really need this book and it would be amazing if I won the free housekeeping. Blessings to you!

  • Mandy

I need this book because I have 4 kids! And moms all around me are desperate. And I want to know how to help other desperate moms now and in the future! Thanks, Sarah Mae and Sally. Amazing giveaways. I blogged about it at:

  • Laura Droll

It’s a brand new year and I am desperate to get my religious, home, and personal life organized!

  • Kelly

I cannot wait to read this book!

  • Jessica Holmes

I need this book because I am DESPERATE!! I’m feeling so overrun right now…

  • Teresa

I’ve read the book already, and I am blown away at how God has used it. To say I’m in a desperate season is an understatement! This has met me where I am and been SUCH an encouragement to me!

  • alison

I just finished a book study with 4 ladies and would like to start up another. This would be a great book to use.

  • Caroline Allen

I desperately (lol) want to read this book because I am a mom of five children 9 and under, and I get weary! I’d love some fresh new encouragement.

  • Kara

I could totally use this!!! My husband just told me last week that I overschedule and overcommit. BUT, I always get it done!! Stressed, but done!

  • Britiney

Sometimes mothering leaves you feeling so desperate and it’s so easy to fill up those desperate moments and hours and days with things that have no lasting value. Thanks for a chance to win this book.

  • Christy Yoder

Why do I need this book? Because I’m a desperate mom (sometimes).

  • Tracey

I need this book because just as iron sharpens iron, moms sharpen moms. Thank you for writing.

  • Leah

Why do I need this book? Because I’m a mom. Because as I am trying to type this, my very determined one-year-old is trying to take the mouse from me. She’s already succeeded in evicting me from the computer chair- I’m squatting down at the desk to type. And my son just turned 8, but acts like a teenage already. And because I know I can’t do any of this mom-stuff alone – I need God, and I am desperate to be able to breathe in His presence. Thanks for the giveaway! Can’t wait to read the book!

  • Shellee Chase

    I need a new perspective!!

  • Andrea C

A friend shared this on FB, I need this book! I have six littles who I homeschool, ages 10 months to 9 years.

  • Jo

I am so looking forward to reading this! I’m a homeschooling mother of four and trying to overcome this feeling of being overwhelmed and alone. For my sake and the kids.

  • Halee Burchfield

I really hope I win the house cleaning give away! I am having a baby in May and don’t have any family close by, this would be wonderful and much needed help in getting through this first year.

  • Renee

I am a mom of only 2 in comparison to some other moms. I always wanted to stay home and thought I’d magically turn into Martha Stewart and get it all done and it would be beautiful and perfect… There is an e-card funny going around teasing about how some moms can get 5 pinterest projects done, bible, study homeschool, exercise and have wholesome meals or something exaggerated like that… I am lucky to get a shower and the kids are alive and fed at the end of the day – that’s success.

  • Heather Hlavka Huson

so Exciting! Can’t wait to order the book

  • Jessica Newland

I am SO excited to get this book & start reading! So excited that I’m telling everyone I know about it & I haven’t even read it yet! 🙂

  • Stephanie

Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with mothering! This sounds like a book I need!

  • Kelly

Wow, I just stumbled across your book. It looks great, especially as I gear up for a time when my husband will be required to work away from us for far too long. I don’t want to be come that desperate mom as I parent my 3 kids under 5 alone for the next 6months. A house cleaner would be a great way to start! And I’m going to check out your book too!

  • Jen Mc

This sounds like a wonderful book as I am at the end of me so often every day every week…. cannot wait to read!

  • Becca Goodpaster

I am on the other side of the darkest season of my life. I so wish that no woman would ever feel so isolated and desperate as I did. I know I’ll be entering another season of Motherhood in the Trenches soon as I expect #3. I see this desperation in other mothers and I so want to encourage them to find a strong, biblical community.

  • Emily

I would love to read this book. Simply because desperate is how I feel sometimes.

  • Jenny Martin

Why do I need this book? Because sometimes–I do feel desperate! Right now–with my 6 year old son–we cannot get him to sleep unless he is with us! If we try to force the issue–he is up all night (and so are we!)

  • janice

  • angela w m

    Can’t wait to read!

  • Tiffany Holley

Exhausted and overwhelmed? YES! I could sure use a Mordechi! 🙂

  • Misty Smith

Why do I need this book, you ask? lol I need this book, because, honestly, I can be a better mom to my children and there are and have been plenty of times that I have felt very desperate. I have two teenaged girls and two girls who are about to hit their preteen years. I need/want/thirst for God’s grace and wisdom on a daily basis. This book would be such a blessing to me and my family both. 🙂

  • Sara R

I’m so excited to read this book and hopefully to read it together with other wise and desperate mamas. I’ve longed for a mentor in my life for quite some time. So often I feel like I’m drowning as a mom, I need to know I’m not the only one. I’m hoping to find some other moms who are in the same chapter of life as well as some who are closer to the end of the book to encourage us and to walk this together.

  • Courtney Gulledge

I look forward to reading this! It’s a blessing to know others have felt the same way I do!

  • Kathy

I need this book for refreshment and direction this year. I wear so many hats and I would love to have biblical guidance on how to keep it together. So excited to read this book, as Sally is one of my mothering/homeschooling mentors!!!

  • Annette

I told my husband I wanted a clean house for Christmas. 🙂 (Need to do the 31 Days of Clean…but how!???)

  • Nicole

Because I *feel* desperate, overwhelmed, drained, in need of encouragement.

  • Stephanie

Let. It. Go. Study in progress, to be followed by Desperate!! Whoa mama, hold on for the changes!!

  • Deanna

I’d love to read this book! Our first child will be two in a month and baby number 2 is coming the beginning of June. To say that I already have days where I am tired and overwhelmed would be true and I know that there are many more coming. 🙂 This book sounds like the perfect encouragement and motivation.

  • Melissa B

I need this book because I have three young children and I am trying to figure out how to balance homeschooling them, keeping the house tidy, and somehow still having enough time and energy to show hospitality to/minister to others!

  • Stephanie

I am a mommy of 7, with four of them 4 and under!! I homeschool by His grace! I mommy by His grace. This week I am simply surviving by His grace, as most of us are sick including me and our newborn is not sleeping at all. But at the same time I see Him carrying me, teaching me and loving me. I would love to eventually lead a group young moms through this book, but for now I am waiting for Him to open those doors.

Thank you for your faithfulness to write this book.

  • Shari Miller

This book is AMAZING!! I had a hard time putting it down. It is a must read for all moms!

  • Kate Harden

Oh, may the Lord bless you and Sally as you launch this week – with a renewed faith and energy. Yes! I entered one of the giveaways. Cool, ideas.

    Kate 🙂

  • Jenn Walden

I need this book badly!! Last year we made a cross-country move away from all my friends and family. It has been hard settling in and I have spent the last year with little to no support system and a husband who travels for work often. With my three little ones at home I am often exhausted and in need of a break!!

  • Bethany

I am very excited about to read this book! Sally and Sarah Mae’s blogs and books are so encouraging to me. This looks like a book that will be very easy to relate to and I look forward to sharing it with many friends. I’m homeschooling my 4 kiddos and trying to figure out how to keep house and help my husband run our business and live missionally and intentionally. Thank you for sharing your talent and your wisdom! Congratulations on the launch of your book!

  • Heidi

This book is so needed! As a mom of three (12, 5, and 2) who homeschools and works 5 nights a week, I feel desperate most days! Trying to keep up with it all and not lose it is such a challenge.

  • Kate @ Teaching What Is Good

Just knowing that other women have struggled with this and that there is hope is a comfort and joy!!

  • Courtney L

I need to read this book! Sometimes I feel so discouraged… as a mother, I think we want to be “good enough” for our children all the time, and it’s just not possible… would love to read a story that I can connect with (Sarah Mae’s!) and glean knowledge from Sally Clarkson all at the same time!

  • Chris & Erin Gross

Mmmm…why I need this book…to hear that how I feel is not out of the ordinary, that I’m not awful for feeling depleted and worn out and breathless when dealing with motherhood on a daily basis…and to hear how you (I) can move through this stage/phase to live victoriously as a mother, the role assigned to me by God I can grow closer to Him as I get comfortable in this skin I’ve been given…

  • Jennifer G

I have a newborn (well, I guess technically an infant, 7 wks old today) and his 5 yr old brother at home with me 24/7. Hubby works long hours far from home, so we don’t see him much during the week and on weekends he is recuperating from his long week. I am feeling broken right now and I am desperate for help. I hope this book will be the help I need.

  • Pam Howard

Very excited to read this book! As do many of us, I often feel the mom guilt that I’m not doing enough!

  • HappyAndBlessedHome

I bought 8 books and found a bunch of free printables at DaySpring. 🙂 One thing though, I was going to buy Ministry of Motherhood but DaySpring does not sell. Maybe get them to sell Sally’s Books too.

  • FromMyMountainView

{I received an advance copy of your book from the publisher as part of
    your launch team.I have not received compensation for my review.}

I am so excited about this book! It really is like coming up for air
when you’ve been under the water for too long. It’s like having a Godly
mentor sitting at my kitchen table helping me see a different
perspective of life in motherhood. A desirable perspective of life that I
would have never seen if it weren’t for Sarah Mae and Sally Clarkson
being willing to sit down and be transparent about their lives and
struggles in the early stages of their growing families. For me, as a
momma of four little ones, and for most women as well, sometimes we just
need to realize there is an easier way than doing it all by ourselves
    — we don’t have to face womanhood or mommyhood alone! I am so grateful
for their perspectives, ideas and wisdom found within these pages. I
am forever changed. I can breathe. 🙂 Thank you, Jesus, so SO much.

  • Michele

I can’t wait to read the book!

  • Jordy Liz

As a soon-to-be mama, this book has blessed me with its honest grace and comforting words knowing that whatever I face will be okay.

  • jkkyker

I am so looking forward to this book. THank you, thank you thank you!!

  • Diane

Desperate is the way I live too many of my days–can’t wait to read this book!

  • Donna Weldon Louis

With 3 little ones (8 months, 3, & 6) I can use all the help I can get

  • Sarah Marie

I would be so blessed by this book! I would really love to be better and turning to God when I am desperate… not only for myself but for my kids!

  • SarahB

I am Desperate! I need help and encouragement as a mom! I would love to use this to reach out to other mother’s as well. So excited! Thank you for this blessing!!!!!!

  • Wendy C. Wood

So excited about the launch! Can’t wait to read the book 🙂

  • Randi S

Who doesn’t need this book? Aren’t we all desperate?

  • Ashley Cozzens

I’m really excited about this book, and the whole … movement? I need this book because I have 3 kids age 3 and under and it is growing me in huge, but often painful ways.

  • Shannon Baker

I have so many young momma’s that I am going to share this with! Can’t wait to start a small group!

  • Kelly Faro

I have days that I feel desperate. I would love to hear the message and encouragement it will give me.

  • Jaime Layton

    Great giveaway. Thanks

  • camille

It has been homeschooling 4 kids, with a husband who is gone for 12 hours a day that has had me realize how desperate I am for a Savior! D A I L Y ! It is nice to know we are not alone as mothers, we are all desperate for more of God 🙂

  • Sarah

I need this book because I am a mother of a 4-year-old. I quit my job when she turned one thinking being a stay at home mom would be easy. Ha! Some days I envy the fact that my husband GETS to go to work, but then I feel bad about it. It can be a tryly lonely time and I am thankful someone is willing to share that.

  • Kelly JS

I so desperately need this book. We are e-schooling our oldest, have a little one, I have just started working outside the home for the first time in 6 years, I’m blogging, in the beginning stages of starting my own company, my husband is in school, and we are struggling to handle it all.

This book sounds like it could give me so much clarity on how to handle such situations. It’s been a rough year to say the least!

  • Shawna Wingert

Desperate is putting it lightly some days. As a first generation follower of Jesus and a newly home mom of two boys, my entire life has been turned upside down (for all the right reasons, but still upside down!) with little knowledge or tools for success. I love your blogs and Sally’s books. You have been mentors from afar and loved me without us ever having met. I am looking forward to receiving my copy of the book!

  • Kelli Smith Allen

Would love this because I homeschool our four kids and sometimes find myself at my wit’s end. I would love to hear of tips/encouragement of how to be a better mom, teacher, wife, etc. to my family and honor God through doing so.

  • Anna R

Oh. My. Word. How I would LOVE to win a year of housecleaning!! What a humbling and incredible gift!

  • ReasonToParty

Best. Contest. Giveaway. Ever. !! 🙂

  • kiley

i have a feeling this book will be on my favorites list!

  • Okaasan

I need the book because I am desperate. 😛

I have a newborn and feel led to have several more children. With my health issues, I can’t imagine taking care of any more children though that is the longing of my heart. I am so tired of only leaving the house to go to doctor’s appointments. I long for fellowship, but it is difficult with a busy schedule of doctor’s visits each week.

  • Serena

I’ve never done anything as hard as parenting, and I could very much use encouragement.

  • Tricia

Motherhood is a wonderful time when you are raising up your children and pouring all your love and energy into them, yet it can leave one feeling isolated and lonely at a time when friendships and support are needed most. I am excited to see how this book can give me a different perspective and to see the need to make time for fellowship with other women!

  • Julie Wilson

what mom isn’t desperate? I need this book to remind myself to breathe when things get crazy… which happens almost every day!

  • MacKenzie

Ugh! Totally missed the question- sorry for the 2nd comment! Basically, I moved last April to a small farm, lived in a 5th wheel trailer for 2 1/2 months with 2 young boys while huge pregnant and remodeling, had my 3rd baby in July, am homeschooling, still living in an unfinished house (I have to go outside to get to the laundry room!) and am DESPERATE! My 2nd son is 3 and very… independent, shall we say? My husband has been working out of town a lot and is of the mentality that the kids are my job and I shouldn’t need a break if I am a good mom. It’s exhausting, emotionally draining and I’ve felt like no one gets this stage until now. THANK YOU for this book!!
