Savoring September – A New Series!

ss400

My favorite months are September, October, November, and December. I like May as well, because by then, I’m ready to be playing outside! But by far, the fall months are like cozy socks to my soul. I just love them and want to slip them on and relish in the warm feeling; I want to savor them.

This year, I have decided to pay more attention to my days, and to savor the new winds, the air cooling, and the freshness of something new; the fall new year. And I’m beginning with September.

September is like January. There is a newness to it, almost more so for me than January. It’s like a fresh start, a new beginning.

I’m already thinking about cardigans and sweaters, cowboy boots and farm days, the fair (where we are sure to put our kids in the annual pig chase), apple pies, and all the wonderful things my town (the coolest small town in America, by the way) has coming up during this delightful month.

Man, I love September.

If you have an affinity for September as I do, then won’t you join me in my new Savoring September Series? We’ll begin on Tuesday, September 3rd. Hope to see you!

Love, SM

P.S. Come back tomorrow, I have a special announcement about a 5-Day course that Sally and I are offering to all you mama’s out there who could use some practical mothering encouragement and help!

P.P.S. I’ll announce the winners of the Desperate giveaway tomorrow!

Fall has always been my favorite season. I love the way the air smells, the apple cider, sweaters, warm fuzzy socks and the leaves changing and falling from the trees. That’s so awesome that your town is the “coolest small town in America.” Incidentally it is only 3 1/2 hours from where I live. We might have to visit some day. My family lives in a predominately Amish community in Ohio. I wanted to be Amish when I was little.

wool socks for the soul…EXACTLY! Those are my favorite months too SM, not a summer fan personally since we homeschool and our little one is home with us all the time so we don’t have the whole summer vacation fever. I can’t wait for this series as I too want to savor the holiday season!!

I could have wrote part of that. . . . My favorite season and months as well! I get so excited baking pies, fall festival fun, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, cardigans, boots, pumpkin spice candles, decorating for fall all in my house. We just moved to Arizona, so not sure if I can find a pumpkin patch, but there are tons of corn fields, so there’s bound to be a maze. =)

    Where do you live?

Well I must say that as kid I never liked September cuz it meant school was starting, then I became a Mom and I started to really like September cuz it meant school was starting

September has always been my favorite month! From football to school to the change in decor and scents and foods… I live in Florida, so it’s far from cool, but it’s when we start to believe that it may one day cool down!

September, October, and November are my favorite months, too. I have to leave off December, because I live in Minnesota, and by December it has been overcast and ice cold for long enough to make me long for April and May again…
I’m a knitter, so I love, love, LOVE the cold-air excuse to pull on another cozy sweater, fair isle hat, or awesome pair of wrist warmers 🙂
