Day 5: Begin the Bathrooms! #31DaysToClean

Today we begin cleaning the bathrooms! For the purposes of this series, we are going to be cleaning two bathrooms and  organizing the bathroom closets over the course of four days. If you have more than two bathrooms, you can work fast and get more done, or catch up on other days. Here we go!

This is my bathroom. It’s not too bad, but THOSE FLOORS need washed. Remember, I have a boy. Ahem.

Here’s the game plan for bathroom #1:

  • Get a bin of some sort and put everything from your bathroom in it and take it out of the bathroom. Take out the trash can as well.
  • Put your toilet bowl cleaner in the bowl and let it sit.
  • Wash the sink, the mirror, and then the toilet. Flush!
  • Wash out the bathtub.
  • Sweep the floor.
  • Get a bucket of hot, soapy water and wash the floor. If you want to get it really clean (especially around the toilet and ESPECIALLY if you have boys) get on your hands and knees to do this.
  • Put everything back in the bathroom that you want in the bathroom (don’t put the dirty clothes back on the floor!). Don’t forget to take out the trash!Get the Kids Involved! Trust me, your kids are capable of more than they sometimes let on! I know for sure that any kiddo seven years old and up and take on cleaning a bathroom, if not in full in part.If you have an older child that can do the whole thing, get them on it! This could be a weekly job for them.If you have younger children, have them just do a part of the bathroom, such as sweeping it up and putting new trash bags in the trash cans.

I’ll be back later with after pics!

It’s about to get real.

This is the “Okay mom, I’ll smile but I’m really not having fun” face.

Somebody please tell me that I’m not the only one who is behind on the tasks. I am still plugging along, though, and I’m pleased about that.

    • Sarah Mae

You are not alone, I’m not technically behind, but I don’t want to do it!

Ugh. I hate cleaning the bathrooms. That and the kitchen floor always get me. I will put it off until it just can’t be put off anymore! I have found that my 8 year old son loves to clean the toilets (I think it’s using the brush that is so appealing). He has been doing that job for me (pretty well) since he was 5 – so good advice to getting the kids involved.

    • Sarah Mae

Me too! I’m getting my 9 year old involved for this one!

Tracy you are not alone. I am pregnant and SO TIRED so I’m just picking up whenever and wherever I can! Also, I spent the last hour on my hands and knees cleaning the kids bathroom (DISGUSTING) but it is done. Also, so am I 🙂

    • Sarah Mae

Ha! Disgusting is the right word here as well!

I must be a day behind you BUT I’m okay with that because progress is progress, even if it’s a little “behind” and my house is looking so much better, WHOOHOO!!! Here’s my kitchen post:

Maybe I’ll get to write a bathroom article tomorrow. But I have to clean the bathroom up first 🙂

Sarah, today’s scripture proverbs 24:27 is the same as yesterday. Was that intentional or what was it supposed to be? If it was supposed to be another could you let me know what it was supposed to be? I’m on day 5, successfully! Thank you!
