My Favorite Things Giveaway!

The goods…

Shoes from The Root Collective!

My feet in my favorites, Millie in Silver Spiral!

These are my favorite of my favorite things. I ADORE these shoes and wear them ALL THE TIME. I only just got them at Allume, but since them, we’ve been inseparable. They are so lovely and comfortable and they can be casual or dressy. Another bonus, my husband likes them, and apparently, he’s not a fan of most of my shoes. These were his exact words when he saw me in them, “Those are the only shoes I’ve ever loved on you.”

The best thing about these shoes though? They are handcrafted, ethically produced shoes by artisans in Guatemala in partnership with The Root Collective, whose goal is focusing on economic development in rural and urban slum communities in Guatemala. Read all about The Root Collective HERE, and be sure to follow them on Instagram where they post the cutest pics of their shoes and those who make them.

Our makers are defying the odds in their communities, pushing forward with hope in a place where darkness often overwhelms. They are providing jobs, food, and family to many without.
We keep our margins slim because we don’t take advantage of our makers and pay them fairly, while keeping prices affordable for consumers. We believe there is power in our business model, and invite you to be a part of that.
Remember that you are powerful this holiday season. Shop with intention.”

It was designed by the sweetest woman, Kacie, who owns Persimmon Prints, a lovely “faith-art” shop with things you will adore. And it’s much more of a delight to shop with them knowing they give back to help those in need.

A Mom Heart Conference Ticket!

Screen Shot 2015-11-10 at 9.26.19 PM

My favorite conference, the one that inspires me in my first calling, is Sally Clarkson’s Mom Heart conference. These conferences are so inspiring and helpful and I always leave encouraged. I cannot recommend how highly I think you should go if you’re a mom, particularly a mom of little ones. And you all know how much I esteem Sally. She is such a wise, gracious woman of God.

If you haven’t registered for one of the Mom Heart conferences, just get on with it by going HERE to find a conference near you (I’ll be speaking in Texas)!

Today, I am giving away a ticket to the California conference which is February 12-13th. You can read all about that conference HERE. Oh, and Chrystal Evans Hurst is speaking at the CA one, and she is a TREAT! You will laugh until you nearly have an accident (easy to do if you’re a mom!) and you will walk away with a good word. And of course, Sally will be speaking, and her insight will so fill your heart you cannot help but go home ready to keep on as a mother, in grace and Titus 2 wisdom.

Today I’m Giving Away a Few of My Favorite Things!

Today is my favorite giveaway!

Today I am giving away my favorite things!!!

Let’s get started…

Preemptive Love – Pursuing Peace, One Heart at a Time by Jeremy Courtney

Oh my friends. I love this book so much, probably because I love the heart behind it so much. It’s a story (true) about a family that moves to Iraq (what American family moves to Iraq?!) and begins to love the people by helping families find a way to get their children heart surgeries. I may have fallen in love with Iraq during the reading of this book. Here are a few excerpts:

“On March 16, 1988, Saddam Hussein’s military dropped chemical weapons on the seventy thousand residents of Halabja. Five thousand people died instantly. Another twenty thousand people were seriously injured and directly exposed to the chemical weapons. kurds still see rates of birth defects and cancers that rival that of Hiroshima.”

“Of these thousands of children whose lives we would save, some would one day carry the scars on their chest to law school and on to the halls of parliament, where a new story of preemptive love would be told and the people of Iraq would turn over a new page with the people of Israel.”

“Love first. Ask questions later.”

Jeremy is a master story-teller and you will not be able to put the book down. Even if you win, you should buy this book to give to a friend. It’s that good.

The Crucified Life – How to Live Out a Deeper Christian Experience by A.W. Tozer

This book came at just the right time for me. I have been taking time to seek God’s face and this book just called to me. It is for every Christian who is tired of living the static Christian life and longs to go deeper.

“The crucified life is a life absolutely committed to following after Christ Jesus. To be more like Him. To think like Him. To act like Him. To love like Him. The whole essence of spiritual perfection has everything to do with Jesus Christ. Not with rules and regulations. Not with how we dress or what we do or do not do. We are not to look like each other; rather, we are to look like Christ.”

Just Love Coffee – African Skies

While in the mountains of beautiful North Carolina with my dear friend Logan and her family, I awoke to the glorious smell of coffee brewing in a percolator. Logan served me a cup, and I was all, “What coffee is this?! It is sooooo… good!”

I can tell these things now, how good coffee really is, because I don’t use creamer anymore. Just saying.

And friends, SO good. Man, I want some right now…

Fireside Candle

You all know that I love candles, and I’ve had a romance with Yankee for quite some time. That was until the nice folks at WoodWick contacted me awhile back and asked if I’d like to try some of their candles. HECK YES. So in the package was Fireside. And ya’ll, I’m hooked. I love the smell and the fact that it cackles and that when it burns I feel like I’m in a cabin with a fireplace and a dog.

Yes. That good.

Alpaca Socks

For real.

Alpaca, as in, the animal. Oh, these socks are SO comfy! My husband got me a pair for Christmas (because he knows that cozy socks are the way to my heart) and now I want a hundred more pairs. Luxury people, luxury. (@jessemhoover, make a note!)

Little Women
I could never, ever end a post of favorite things without including the 1994 version of Little Women. I adore this movie and make my children watch it with me several times during the winter. SEVERAL. It’s one of those cozy movies, kind of like alpaca socks.
Well, there you have it. My favorite things.

This is the best giveaway because when you get it, you can cozy up in your alpaca socks, light the Fireside candle (and listen to it cackle), have warm cup of coffee (hey, that sounds familiar) and read a good book! And then when you’re done with your book, you can watch Little Women! Score!

Oh, and by the way, everything listed I am purchasing for you. No company or person has asked or even knows I’m doing this giveaway. These genuinely are just a few of my favorite things. Just thought you should know. 🙂

Alright ya’ll, that’s it for today! Just fill out the form below to enter to win my favorite things! One winner, super-fun delivery day when it arrives on your doorstep!
